Two weeks to go to the British Championship Series in Liverpool Echo Arena. At the event British Gymnastics will be honouring some of the gymnasts who have represented GBR 🇬🇧 at the highest international senior level. One of our own Directors - Alex Smith is among the honours list. Alex represented GBR in 2006 in Ostrava, Czech Republic 🇨🇿, 2010 in Malmo, Sweden 🇸🇪, and 2012 in Aarhus, Denmark 🇩🇰. Today this is the criteria for Master Gymnast. Alex was also British TeamGym Champion in 2009, 2010 and 2012. During his career Alex had retired at least twice (so far 😉) - Gymnasts never die - they just take a little longer to full in 😂
Alex was also part of the TV show - Let's get gold, where he also acted as the spokesperson for the team during their TV spot. Consequently we now try to use Alex for announcing when ever we can 😂
Congratulations Alex - this award is all about recognising those that got TeamGym to where it is today. You've been an important part of that journey and the history of GB's success.
